Spectacular Science for all ages!

Surrounded by beautiful countryside, the 300 acre Herstmonceux estate was once home to the world famous Royal Greenwich Observatory which relocated from London to the clearer skies of Sussex in the 1940s and 50s. The legacy of that time is a fascinating visitor experience - The Observatory Science Centre. Set among the iconic green copper domes that still house some of the largest telescopes in the country is an interactive science centre that aims to make science fun, informative and spectacular for all ages. It offers over 100 exhibits, inside and out, daily telescope tours as well as family friendly science shows during the school holidays. Please visit the website for full details of all upcoming events and activities, including Open Evenings to view the night sky through the historic telescopes (weather permitting). There is also free parking, a café and gift shop.
