Das Princess Theatre liegt an der atemberaubenden Strandpromenade von Torquay und bietet eine exquisite Aussicht auf die landschaftliche Schönheit von Torbay.

Das Princess Theatre öffnete erstmals am Mittwoch, dem 7. Juni 1961, seine Pforten. An der Eröffnungsnacht standen der verstorbene, großartige Tommy Cooper und das legendäre Morecombe & Wise ganz oben auf der Rechnung. 1963 traten die Beatles live auf der Bühne auf und sangen die damals neu veröffentlichte Single „She Loves You“, die in der Stadt für einige Hysterie sorgte! Das Princess Theatre ist South Devons größtes Theater mit einer Kapazität von 1.491 Sitzplätzen. Das Theater ist ein Tourneehaus, was bedeutet, dass die Shows, die hier aufgeführt werden, von unabhängigen Produktionsfirmen zu uns gebracht werden. Daher bietet unser Tagebuch eine große Auswahl an Live-Unterhaltung von Opern und Balletten über Konzerte, Comedy und Pantomime bis hin zu Tourneen im West End Musical. Zu den großen Musicalproduktionen, die unser Publikum begeistert haben, gehören Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Chicago, Starlight Express, Rocky Horror, Cats und Joseph und der Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, und viele weitere werden folgen. Ikonen der Bühne und Leinwand Sir Roger Moore, Elaine Page, Joan Collins und die geliebte Joan Rivers haben auch unsere Bühne geschmückt. Auch die Comedians Jimmy Carr, Alan Carr und Dawn French sind hier aufgetreten und die Chartstürmer Mumford & Sons, Jamie Cullum und Ronan Keating haben das Theater auf ihre UK-Tourneen aufgenommen. Wir sind stolz darauf, mit der lokalen Gemeinschaft zusammenzuarbeiten, um die talentierten Stars von Torbay mit Shows von Amateurvereinen und lokalen Tanzschulen zu präsentieren. Wir bieten auch den Veranstaltungsort für städtische Veranstaltungen und sind unglaublich stolz auf unser preisgekröntes Krippenprojekt, bei dem Grundschulen die Möglichkeit erhalten, ihre Weihnachtsstücke kostenlos auf der Bühne aufzuführen. Zugänglichkeitsinformationen

There are 4 wheelchair spaces for customers who have to remain in their wheelchairs throughout the performance. There are also carer seats located either next to, or directly in front or behind the wheelchair space.
There are 6 steps up, with handrails, to the main entrance, then swing doors into the foyer. A ramp is situated to the far right of the doors near to the entrance to Breezes. Two sets of double doors give access to the rear of the stalls, which slopes down (no stairs) to the front row. There is a lift, or a flight of 22 steps, from the foyer to the circle bar. From the bar there are two entrances to the circle, both with double swing doors and 11 steps to a centre gangway, from which there are 6 steps down to the front row and 5 steps up to the back row.
Access Parking spaces now has a dropped curb in close proximity to the Theatre for easy accessible access
There is also a Café/Bar/Bistro linked to the theatre, which is fully accessible to the disabled and wheelchair users.
The box office is situated on the road side of the building with two flat entrances with heavy swing doors, automatic opening doors are situated to the left of the box office operated by pressing the red button on the wall the counter is 90 cms high, with a writing shelf situated in the middle of the 2 sales counters, The rows with better leg room in the stalls are the front row, V36/42, all side gangway seats and Circle row G.
