From the Scottish Border to the Wash this incredibly varied stretch of coast offers stunning beaches, castles, tiny fishing villages, famous seaside resorts and stunning landscapes. Several sections, adding up to 278 Km (173 miles) are open already and more will open over the coming years. This section of the England Coast Path offers a true taste of the North East. Explore the coast for three days, a week or even longer. 

In the North East, the following sections are open to the public (as of September 2019):

- Skegness to Mablethorpe (26 Km / 16 miles)
- Filey Brigg to Newport Bridge (110 Km / 69 miles)
- Newport Bridge to North Gare (16 Km / 10 miles)
- North Gare to South Bents (55 Km / 34 miles)
- South Bents to Amble (71 Km / 44 miles)
