One of the most fascinating English country houses to survive with its historic collections, the Constable family have called Burton Constable home for over 700 years. Discover thirty grand rooms crammed with fine and decorative art, furniture, family treasures and a remarkable Cabinet of Curiosities. Explore 'Capability' Brown parkland with woodland and lakeside walks. Visit our historic stables, with Billy the stable boy's bedroom and a slumbering 60ft sea monster skeleton - the only real-life whale in Moby-Dick! Book a behind-the-scenes tour through the servants' quarters, or roam the hall to discover our exhibition on the Difficult Women who have helped make Burton Constable the gem it is today.

Accessibility Information

Accessible toilets and baby changing facilities are in the Stables Courtyard. We have designated parking in the car park and also at the front of the house (not always available on event days). 
The Hall has a stair lift to first floor and wheelchair loan (maximum 2 people at any one time),however in the event of an emergency disabled visitors must be able to get down the stairs on their own or with the help of their friends, family or carer.
Surfaces both inside and outside are uneven. Wheelchair loan is also available for the grounds and the paths/walkways are mainly gravel.
