England’s coast offers enormous variety and is packed with events, festivals, maritime history and culture. Each of our six regions of focus offers distinct characteristics. If you’ve visited one area, make time to explore a new coastline. Northumberland, for example, on the north east coast is packed with history and boasts more castles than any other county in England and yet is relatively unknown, while the South West with its pretty coves and water sports features in plenty of tour operator’s programmes.
