Watch nature as it gently unfolds

As spring leads to new life and regrowth, enjoy East Yorkshire’s coastal landscapes, diverse wildlife, and pristine nature.

To witness the East Yorkshire coast at its most wild and untamed, visit Flamborough Head. With plenty of coastal paths to wander, it’s a great spot for bird watching and if you’re confident in the water you might even want to try sea canoeing or paddleboarding. With two imposing lighthouses and Danes Dyke, South Landing and Flamborough Headland local nature reserves, there are endless opportunities for exploration and enhanced self-wellbeing.

Close by is Bempton Cliffs, one of the UK’s top wildlife spectacles - almost half-a-million seabirds soaring above and towering chalk cliffs. During spring you can see guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes, herring gulls, fulmars and shags nesting here as well as the largest seabird in the UK, the majestic gannet. From early April on, we can’t forget everyone's favourite, the puffin!

Another must see for bird lovers is Spurn Point. This unique coastal national nature reserve features a long sandy spit stretching three and a half miles into the Humber Estuary from the Holderness Coast. The iconic black and white Spurn Lighthouse looks proudly over the reserve which can also be explored aboard a Unimog.

For an indoor experience, journey through the world’s oceans at The Deep in Hull. Committed to accessibility for all, visit the fish, sharks and even penguins!

Whether you are in search of blooming wildflowers or enjoy the many outdoor activities such as hiking, birdwatching, or searching the sandy shores for tiny treasures this picturesque coast offers exceptional value for money.
