Saltburn’s shingle and sandy beach features a stunning Victorian Pier that extends 200 meters into the sea and a unique water-powered Cliff Lift for easy access down to the Pier.

 A hotspot for watersports enthusiasts, don't miss the Saltburn Surf School where you can catch some waves. 

The beach offers excellent surfing conditions with great beach breaks on either side of the pier, ideal at high tide and perfect for beginners and intermediates. With a north-facing break that captures most swells along this coast, the beach is a surfer's paradise.

To the south, more powerful breaks attract experienced surfers who also enjoy the reef and point breaks along this part of the North Sea coast. The Surf School provides opportunities for adventurous visitors to try surfing, boogie boarding, surf skiing, or windsurfing, with options ranging from an hour’s lesson to a full day of surfing for keen enthusiasts.

Saltburn Beach has earned a Seaside Award, highlighting ongoing efforts to maintain a beautiful and clean coastline. The award recognizes water quality, beach safety, dog-free zones, quality tourist signage, and overall beach cleanliness. A weekly cleaning program ensures the areas patrolled by lifeguards remain pristine.
