Tap into family experiences that last a lifetime

Where else can you walk with alpacas, spot seals, visit a Cloud Bar and catch a white-knuckle roller-coaster ride? Whether you’re after beaches that buzz or are blissfully empty, explore a coast bursting with summer fun.

With 50 miles of coast, you’re sure to find a beach with your name on it. Anderby Creek is one of the quietest and often voted amongst the best in the UK, it’s ideal for escaping the crowds and getting immersed in nature. Here you’ll find the Cloud Bar, the world’s first purpose-built cloud observation platform, with cloud sculptures, the perfect spot to identify clouds in Lincolnshire’s huge skies.

Sutton-on-Sea is another quiet spot and quieter than nearby Mablethorpe, with its colourful beach huts and variety of cafes and independent shops, it’s ideal for a walk along the prom surrounded in nature to nearby Trusthorpe or Sandilands. The former golf course at Sandilands is now a National Trust nature reserve forming part of the Lincolnshire Coastal Country Park.

Located between Anderby Creek and Sandilands, Huttoft Beach (also wonderfully known as Moggs Eye) is backed by grassy dunes, with stunning views, ideal for walkers and cyclists.

But if it’s action you’re after, head to the golden sands of Skegness, visitors return year after year for its donkey rides, crabbing and lively amusements. Or spend time at Mablethorpe, another Blue Flag beach hosting sandcastle competitions, firework displays with all the fun of the fair just steps away.

To the north of Skegness you’ll find the long sandy stretches of Ingoldmells, a big draw for walkers, while Chapel St Leonards stretches from Ingoldmells in the south to Chapel Six Marshes in the north, a mile’s walk will take you to the North Sea Observatory, the UK’s only purpose-built marine observatory, fantastic for bird-watching.
