Look no further than East Yorkshire, this coast does Christmas spectacularly well! Bridlington is set to sparkle with an Ice Trail open 11am to 5.30pm 15-16 November. Come for interactive displays and live ice carving at this free event with shimmering ice sculptures dazzling in a light display after dark. Have the very best of coast and country, step back in time at Robin Hood’s Bay at its Victorian Weekend, 6-7 December. Expect live music, carols round the tree and Dicken’s style costumes in one of the most picturesque spots on the coast.
Board the Santa Express on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, visit Whitby Christmas Market 14-16 November, join creative workshops, Christmas Craft Fair, Snowman Trail and much more at Danby Lodge and Sutton Bank.

Meet Father Christmas, enjoy live festive tunes and little ones can get creative in Christmas craft workshops. On Saturday 12th December a frosty winter adventure arrives in Saltburn. Renowned ice sculptors Sand in Your Eye will once again be creating amazing ice sculptures across the town, creating a one-day ice trail. Alongside, will be Saltburn Farmer’s Market with theatre performances and music taking place throughout the day.
If you’re heading to the north east, Newcastle will be far more accessible this year by coach and its Christmas Markets will be bigger than ever with a Christmas Village featuring family-friendly, affordable activities close to the city’s thriving festive food and drink scene.

Bournemouth certainly has Christmas wrapped this year with its largest-ever Christmas Market, 13 November to 31 December, including a revamped Christmas Tree Wonderland in its Lower Gardens and stunning open-air Ice Rink and cosy Alpine Lodge Bar.
Throw yourself into the festive spirit on Bournemouth Pier with the Scrooge Dining Experience on Friday 28 November at Key West. Or why not have breakfast with the red-suited man himself? Close to Christchurch, Highcliffe Castle will be hosting its Christmas Tree Festival, 5 to 23 December, when the castle is transformed into a winter wonderland crammed with Christmas trees, each individually decorated. Its Christmas Market, Creatives at the Castle, returns on 22 and 23 November, come and meet more than 35 artisans and purchase beautiful Christmas gifts.

A little further along the Kent coast, Dover Winter Light-up on December 6 promises a Lantern Procession, workshops, entertainment and food village while the annual light switch on in Sandwich with Music4Martha takes place 29 November at the Guildhall forecourt, expect festive stalls, live music and much cheer!
