The pretty stone built village of Corfe Castle village is overlooked by the outstanding ruins of its Castle of the same name.

Perched on a hill, guarding the principal route through the Purbeck hills, the Castle, now owned by the National Trust, was built in 1086 and was one of the country’s great strongholds. The village offers a unique range of independent shops, pubs, restaurants and tea houses and two free museums.  It  is linked to the coastal resort of Swanage by road, bus and traditional steam railway.
