From ferry trips to harbour tours to pub lunch cruises Brightlingsea Harbour makes a great day out for all ages, plus 4 legged friends and there is room for bikes.

Between April and September Brightlingsea Harbour runs various ferry trips.

There is a daily foot ferry service to Point Clear and East Mersea. From Point Clear enjoy a stunning coastal walk taking you down to St Osyth. At East Mersea passengers are dropped off at Cudmore Grove Country Park which makes a great day out for everyone.

If you just want to get out on the water and explore our beautiful harbour, we run tours daily. Take a closer look at the yachts and power boats and if tides are right sail around Cindery Island, which is home to lots of wildlife. From Romans through to modern day, exciting stories of cannibalism and battles on the docks, you are in for a treat!

For those who want to spend more time on the water we run a fantastic pub lunch river cruise. Take in the beautiful scenery along the River Colne to the riverside village of Wivenhoe. The trip from Brightlingsea to Wivenhoe takes 45mins then spend 2 hours in Wivenhoe enjoying a scrumptious lunch at the Black Buoy Inn, which is packed with maritime history.

You can also charter our ferry by the hour as another way to explore the River Colne or as a treat to a loved one for a special occasion, let us create the perfect trip for you, your family and friends. We can take your party to Wivenhoe, Rowhedge, Hythe Quay Colchester or just spend time enjoying the coastline and wildlife.
