A great way to learn about the history and people of North Northumberland

Bailiffgate Museum and Gallery is a people’s museum, where fascinating stories of the past are told about the town and district of Alnwick. We are located right next to the town entrance to the historic Alnwick Castle. Our historic building is in the town’s Castle Quarter and was previously a church. It provides a calm and beautiful setting in which to celebrate our distinctive Northumberland heritage, display special exhibitions and present a range of special events.

Accessibility Information

We are fully accessible to wheelchair users, with a special ground-level door leading directly to a lift to the main 2 floors of the building.
