Get cracking – there’s still just time to book a late deal to the coast for Easter! With the epic new King Charles III England Coast Path now officially ‘open’, fill your days with coastal walks, tuck into fish and chips and enjoy the very best of spring nature by the sea. If you can’t escape this month, two bank holidays land in May, so why not head to Deal’s Spring Feastival, 1-4 May and scour the food court, bars and craft markets or visit Scarborough on the Yorkshire coast, which celebrates 400 years since the discovery of its spa waters, transforming it into one of the UK’s best-loved seaside resorts.

Forget last month’s wash-out, this must surely be the month for coastal path walking, surprising glimpses of nature and maybe even the first al fresco lunch by the sea! With a leisurely Easter weekend ahead, plan a wallet-friendly escape of wildlife watching, seafood indulgence and seafront strolls to reset before summer.

Happy days - the first shoots of spring are appearing, birdboxes are bustling and half term’s just round the corner! Even in the shortest month of the year, there’s plenty happening on the coast. If this winter’s left you the slightest bit low, banish any hint of blues at the Broadstairs Blues Bash, 18-22 February. Head to the Kent town for refreshing walks along seven bays and choose from around 100 gigs across 20 venues. Or hop across the Solent to the Isle of Wight and join the National Trust to step into the calming beauty of Newtown Nature Reserve for a free, guided birdwatching walk on 7 March, book ahead.

Fresh year, time for a fresh trip! From cultural reopenings to scenic walking trails and ambitious coastal rewilding projects, 2026 is set to be a landmark year for visitors to England’s Coast. It’s the 400th anniversary of Scarborough becoming Britain’s first seaside resort but also comic legend Eric Morecambe’s 100th birthday, so expect the seaside town after which he named himself and the Yorkshire resort to celebrate in style. It’s also the Jurassic Coast’s 25th birthday – so there’ll be a further wave of big celebrations on the south coast.

With a snowballing number of light trails, dazzling displays and Christmas markets sprinkled all around the coast, why not embrace the season, present shop in-person, gluhwein in hand, and enjoy some festive holiday cheer!

Bonfire season, torchlit processions, fireworks, who doesn’t love wrapping up and getting outdoors for a dazzling light show? But if bangs and roaring fires aren’t for you, November’s also the perfect month for spending a peaceful night under the stars, head straight for the Dark Skies of the North York Moors, Northumberland, Dorset or the Isle of Wight.

There’s something about the slide into autumn that feels as though it’s time for a rebalance. Summer crowds have vanished, festive chaos is still a way off, but the season of mellow fruitfulness triggers the richest colours of the year and bumper mouth-watering produce.

Four heatwaves this summer? What a scorcher! But September’s the month the sea’s at its warmest, beaches are quieter and eating al fresco can still be a joy, so make the most of the last longer days and snap up a bargain.
